While I don’t particularly enjoy grocery shopping, I do love Trader Joe’s. I shop at TJs at least twice a week. I love their products and their customer service.
I had such a great experience this morning at TJs that I had to share it!
I’m having some girlfriends over tonight for a CAbi trunk show. I needed to pick up some things for appetizers and dessert. I was talking to Barbara (the cooking demonstrator at our local store). I was asking her some questions about varying the recipe with their Pumpkin Bread & Muffin Mix. And, I was telling her about a Pumpkin Cupcake recipe I just found from Barefoot Contessa. It has a maple cream cheese frosting with crushed Heath Bars on top. YUM!
I asked Barbara if they had something similar to Heath bars. She walked me over to the candy section and opened a container of their English Toffee. She said, “Here, try one. Walk around the store and nibble on this. I think this would work fine for your topping.”
What other grocery store would ever do that?
When I was checking out, the checker asked what I was doing this weekend. I told her I was having some girlfriends over and explaining some of the appetizers I was going to make. She suggested that I get the Dark Chocolate covered Powerberries. They are real fruit juice pieces made with Acai, Pomegranate, Cranberry and Blueberry juices and dipped in a smooth dark chocolate. She promised me that I would love them. She has recommended them to many people and they always come back in for more.
Of course, when I got home, I told Jeff about my experience. His first response was “that’s great, honey. Let’s try the chocolate berries.” We did – and they are delicious!
I’ve been a fan of TJs for 15 plus years. I’m amazed that their customer service and products just continue to get better. Pretty amazing!!!
Oh, and by the way, I am making a variation of the pumpkin cupcakes for tonight. If they turn out great, I’ll be sure to post them.
