Welcome to Lori’s Favorite Things!
I LOVE holidays, decorating and entertaining … Christmas, Easter, Halloween and Valentine’s are my favorites. And, I enjoy bringing something special into our home for each holiday. That tradition started with my mom, as she always decorated our home for every holiday and created fun traditions. I have such fond memories!
I am an ex-corporate gal, now a startup gal — working on a software startup with 2 partners. I’m married to Jeff — a wonderful, funny guy. And, I am a step mom to Nick & Natalie – who live with us 50% of the time.
This blog was started with the goal of documenting a year of holidays, recipes, decorating ideas & inspirations, travels and more. We’ll see if I can make it!
Love it!

Anita –
So glad that you liked the chicken recipe! Our kids are always so excited when I fix chicken this way. I also add fresh sage – when I have it on hand.
I’d love to get your red velvet recipe sometime — if you share it. Deb said she made it for Easter and it was delicious!
Hey Lori! I will try adding the sage next time, I’m sure that
is yummy too. Yes I will absolutely give you the recipe. I did do some slight adjustments, but I think you will like it. I will email it to you….Let me know what you think..
Take care, Anita

Hi Lori,
I just found your website. I am in love with this picture:

Can you tell me where you found the trees and what type of green cloth are the apothecary jars setting on? This design is to die for! I’m going to copy it this Christmas! Thanks so much. Love your ideas!
Angie
Hello Angie,
I found the runner and pinecone ornaments at Shinodas. Shinodas is a store/warehouse for interior and floral designers with several locations in Southern California. The runner is sheer organza.
The mercury trees are from Homegoods/TJMaxx. Happy Decorating!
Lori

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and New Years! Hope to see you on my next trip to Seattle. Love, fun and hugs to you! -Lori
I would love to know where you purchased your apothecary jars. Thank you
Hi Kathy, I purchased some at Pottery Barn and the others at TJ Maxx. I’ve seen quite a few apothocary jars recently at TJMaxx and Marshal’s. Good luck!
